two things i love – vintage and songstress Lily Allen – combine the two and you’ve got = Allen opening up a store in London with her sister, Sarah Owen, dedicated to – vintage. Lucy in Disguise debuted a pop up shop at the Vintage at Goodwood fashion fair in previously this August. Lucy in Disguise (LID) is a heavenly boudoir of a wardrobe to play dress up in with collected items, unknown labels and everything a lassie would want while she dances around jewels, hats, bags, sunglasses, and a swarm of vintage clothes at attainable luxury prices. i am so excited to see more pictures of the actual shop which is opening today/tonight! word is – they’ve even got playstation.
one of my favorite parts of Lily in Disguise – the video. playful, girly and i can attest that the getting ready process, specially done with the girls, is one of the best parts.
“HOUSED UNDER ONE ROOF, BEADED DRESSES FROM THE 20’S, EVENING GOWNS FROM THE 30’S RUB SHOULDERS WITH 40’S TEA DRESSES AND PROM DRESSES FROM THE 50’S. OSSIE CLARK AND BIBA FROM THE 60’S AND 70’S, SEQUINS AND SPARKLE FROM THE 70’S AND 80’S, WHETHER YOU WANT TO LOOK LIKE BIANCA AT STUDIO 54 OR TWIGGY SASHAYING DOWN THE KING’S ROAD IN ’67…” – Lily & Sarah
behind the scenes:
so one of the best parts about LID located in Covent Garden, is there is a blow dry bar and vintage salon where you can complete your entire look and literally jet out and be where you need to be. this is what i have always imagined and wanted – a place with full service offering all that a vintage maven would want. get to LID, dress, accessorize and skip over to the salon for hair and makeup. it’s really the modern day store where it’s not just shopping – but a place to relax, and kick it with the girls while being surrounded by the best vintage pieces.
pictures from the opening:
Lucy in Disguise is definitely one of my stops the next time i go to London! or more like, make a trip to London to go to LID.
