i lit a match. to light my flame and ignite my fire. in the dark i stood, bare and undesired. i wondered how long it’d take before the stick burned out. in the dark with the smallest bit of flame. in the dark where no one ever knows my name. because i trick them all the same. i can be your darling, i can be your dame. just know whatever we start. it ends today.
