when there’s that empty river flowing feeling (due to whatever apparent current ‘disaster’ or ‘crisis’) there is the rising need to turn to something – anything to fill that void. for me, many times, this is a little detour that ends with the slip of the right shoe bringing a smile. the heartbreak, mishap, confusion and whatever else flies quickly out the window, as you quickly stack the boxes, hear the beeps, swipe the card, and run the script of your signature ink. and there it is. the shoe fitting you, your heart. the shoe that doesn’t abandon you. the shoes. there’s nothing like a swift shoe spree to blot out the icky pain. and they wonder why we have so many shoes. i’ve bought about 15 pairs since being on my miami vacation. hmmmmmm. what does that say about me? but if the shoe fits, what else more is there to say?
